What Happens During a Homeopathic Consultation for Depression

If you’re considering a homeopathic remedy for your depression, you’ll no doubt want to know what happens once you get there. You are wondering what you’ll need to know, and what your doctor will need to know. Below are some tips and facts of what you need to know before your first consultation, to your first consultation, and as well other consultations after the first. They’re known as follow-up consultations.

Before Consultation

There are things you need to know before engaging the homeopathic treatment method of depression. You’ll need to be ready, but they’ll probably just want to evaluate you and find out if the method is the right one for you. It is common to be anxious before the first visit and not know what to expect, but your doctor will explain everything that you need to know after his evaluation of your condition. Here are some things to consider:

Stay calm during the consultation.

Don’t act as if you’ve got something and you just need a prescription to treat it. If you do and you’re prescribed the wrong medicine, your symptoms can become actually worse than they were before.

  • Know your symptoms.

  • Have an idea of how you want to cure your depression.

  • Know you’re ready to solve this problem.

  • Know whether or not you want to look to pills for an answer.

  • Think of some questions your doctor may ask you and have answers ready.

  • If you have certain ideas for how to cure yourself, be ready to suggest them to your doctor.

Your First Homeopathic Consultation

The first consultation should last about an hour, maybe a little longer. Your doctor or psychologist may ask you questions about your symptoms, experiences, height, weight, age, and maybe things such as what you fear and why you think you fear them. He’ll ask if there’s anything specific that you know is partly causing your depression. Your answers and comments will determine whether your doctor thinks homeopathic consultation is the right method of treatment for you. If he recommends that you’ll need it, he’ll schedule a follow-up visit to find out more information and get you on your way to health. If he thinks there’s another solution, he’ll let you know and may also schedule and other visit.

Your Follow-Up Consultations

During the next two or three visits with your doctor or psychologist, they are going to be determining whether this treatment is working for you. They may ask you how you feel, if you think the prescription is working, and if there’s anything you recommend changing about the prescription. Now, during the first few days of taking the medicine, it is common to feel worse than you did before you began the medication. This won’t last; it is simply your body adjusting to the medicine and getting used to it.

If the doctor thinks the medicine is not working for you, he will create another prescription for you. After that you’ll check in with him again and see how things are going. If it works, there may be a few more sessions just to check and make sure everything is as it should be. If not, the doctor will work with you however long it takes to find the right prescription for you. Don’t get discouraged, and if you believe that homeopathic treatment is right for you, don’t ‘overact’ to get the prescription, because if prescribed something from homeopathy that you don’t need, it can actually make you worse. If homeopathic treatment is what you really need, your doctors will let you know, and they’ll make sure you get the right treatment.
